My name is Brian Noblin and i'm a Golf Packager in Myrtle Beach. I started this site in 2001 as a way to inform people about Myrtle Beach Golf and possibly gain a few clients in the mean time. Please feel free to browse about the site and enjoy the very informative interactive message board room. Please feel free to email me at brian@myrtlebeachgolftalk.com if you have any questions, need to get a quote or book your golf package!

The Myrtle Beach Golf Talk Forum is the heart and soul of this website (it's where the "Talk" is derived from) and has transformed over the years.  This is the latest, and hopfully last, incarnation of the Forum.  Here is where all of the latest information can be found, from recent trip reports to advice for a particular issue.  Over the years, Forum members have formed friendships, there is an annual Forum Outing in Myrtle Beach and occassionaly local outings where Forum members get together and play golf.

If you are seeing this notice, you are either not registered on the site and/or not signed in.  Not all of the Forum content is visible to you either.  Some of it, such as the Trip Reports, is only visible by registered users of the site and you must be signed in.  So if you are registered, that's great.  Sign in and view all of the content.  If you are not registered, please do so by clicking the Register link up at the top left of the page.  It only takes a few minutes.  Then, come on in and get to know us and hopefully participate.

I received an e-mail from Thistle stating that i won a free round of golf and to contact them. After calling the pro-shop i told them the only time i visit Myrtle Beach is October...i was told the free golf would not be honored since they are busy then. I told the person on the phone i would be bringing between 8 -12 guys...we would be eating/drinking all day....didn't matter.

I can understand a golf course not wanting to give out a free round of golf during a peak time....just wish they would say it in their e-mail so you don't have to waste your time...and the pro-shop person's time asking/answering questions.

Our group has played Thistle 5 times already....twice since they opened the new clubhouse....and we will definitely return again....awesome conditions....and we like the 12 minute tee times!!!

There would have to be an * somewhere on that email saying "restrictions apply", or they would have no choice but to honor the free round anyhow.

There was no restrictions on the e-mail sent...just said you have won a free round of golf...contact Thistle within 7 days to collect the prize. After talking to the person in the pro-shop....he then goes on to say that it isn't really a free round of golf you win...it is just an invitation from us for you to visit our course!!!

I was thinking to myself....WTF is wrong with this guy???

I just sent you the e-mail i received from Thistle.....i forwarded it to your yahoo address that i have in my address book.

After talking to the guy in the proshop....i did not follow up in claiming the "free round" of golf. I think i might call them back and claim it....then if there are restrictions on it....just give it away to someone who could use it.

MBN has win a free round in spots on their website and in emails. Their "free" round actually requires a $25 cart fee and is PM only, but at least there are no black out dates, so it can be used on any date period.

The courses do this stuff to generate email lists. Restrictions are the norm, but to not be able to use it at all doesn't help attract the customers they want.

PM, 48 hour and/or Mon-Wed booking makes more sense. After all they hope that the free round guy will bring other paying golfers.

I got it....and agree with you...it's absolutely an unqualified offer for  FREE round of golf, as long as you respond within 7 days. I'm not a lawyer, but If the statement is vague, it's construed against the author of the email/document. here's what is syas verbatum....

You have been chosen as the winner of a Free round of golf at Thistle Golf Club. Please call 800-571-6710 within 7 days to claim your prize.

No asteriks, no "call for details", nothing indicating it's restricted or conditional. Pretty stupid if they don't qualify it when they are obviously restricting dates, or BOGO.

I would nail them to the wall for the email on free, move up the chain to get what you deserve.
