My name is Brian Noblin and i'm a Golf Packager in Myrtle Beach. I started this site in 2001 as a way to inform people about Myrtle Beach Golf and possibly gain a few clients in the mean time. Please feel free to browse about the site and enjoy the very informative interactive message board room. Please feel free to email me at brian@myrtlebeachgolftalk.com if you have any questions, need to get a quote or book your golf package!

The Myrtle Beach Golf Talk Forum is the heart and soul of this website (it's where the "Talk" is derived from) and has transformed over the years.  This is the latest, and hopfully last, incarnation of the Forum.  Here is where all of the latest information can be found, from recent trip reports to advice for a particular issue.  Over the years, Forum members have formed friendships, there is an annual Forum Outing in Myrtle Beach and occassionaly local outings where Forum members get together and play golf.

If you are seeing this notice, you are either not registered on the site and/or not signed in.  Not all of the Forum content is visible to you either.  Some of it, such as the Trip Reports, is only visible by registered users of the site and you must be signed in.  So if you are registered, that's great.  Sign in and view all of the content.  If you are not registered, please do so by clicking the Register link up at the top left of the page.  It only takes a few minutes.  Then, come on in and get to know us and hopefully participate.

Old and Crafty and I decided to play Grande Dunes Members course today at 12:50....and YES...it was pretty friggin' hot! I remember reading the write up on here last week about it being "redundant". Both Nick and I must disagree. We found the course very interesting and put both of us in mind of BF Fazio with less sand. Suttle elevation changes, traps routed you for some gentle doglegs, some more severe doglegs, interesting use of grasses, and very nice conditions. It's not as dramatic of views as the resort course, so if you're looking for waterway views, don't play this course. But if you like a good solid course, great conditions, and some interesting routing, by all means, play it. Golfdesk has a $49 rate after noon on weekdays, and honestly, that's a steal. Houses were georgeous on the way in, but hardly any housing visible on the corse. Has a very private feel to it. It's not in my top 10, but certainly somewhere in the next 15.

While GDunes Resort + Members are the same price this summer, notice the big difference in price in Sept + Oct.

As with BF Norman, Grande Dunes Members is a very good course, but hard to fit into the top 20 or so that more represent MB golf.

    Yank, Thanks for your reports!

Thanks for your report on the Members course, a fun course if you keep it in play.
Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tradgedies, obscured by the occassional miracle.

THanks for that report.. I played GD Members in late March & felt that the conditions were really top shelf..the design very playable and traditional...

Enjoyed the afternoon with Jeff very much, and I agree with all he said about the course.  Especially the difference between the Resort Course and this one.  And I agree with Lefty about the "keep it in play".  Very nice day.

Wow, only $49 to play GD Members Course. When it first opened didn't it cost 60k just for the initiation fee to join? Imagine putting down that kind of coinage and now anyone can play for $49.

Although I enjoyed the courses a lot, I'd much rather play the Dunes, and from what I hear, Reserve and DeBordieu and pay the fees associated than play GD Members everyday. Normal price in the summer was $95-100 everywhere, except Brian's gang had it for $49. Don't know why the big disparity, but I don't price them....I just play them...how's things in FLA?

Yeah, the Dunes is my favorite, followed by DeBordieu and Wachesaw Plantation. GD Members course is in great condition but the layout is not inspiring. Things in Florida going good. I live in a 36-hole private community that doesn't get much play. Wednesday afternoons I play with a buddy and we get 18 holes done in under 2.5 hours which is sweet. Also, between May and October I can play any private club in SW Florida via reciprocation. The game is starting to make a comeback too after a couple years of suckiness.

Hopefully, I'll be in Myrtle next week. My home finally has an offer.

Wishing you the best of luck for selling your house!

Besides, glad life and golf are good down south in Florida!

    Take care!

Thanks Denis! Oh, and I forgot the most important thing ... I found a pizza place that would rate 10/10 on my list! It took me a while, though, and was getting worried. Before that there was only one place 30 minutes away that would rate about an 8 and all the others were 7 and below.

Now you can feel like home with your pizza place!
